Do you really believe that? That's almost exactly what's going to happen. There's a lot of money to be made off of, say, selling collections of ER (or other TV show) episodes. Not only that, but what if all you want the recording for is to watch after you miss it? Just connect to a digital pay-per-view channel and pay $4.95, and they'll beam the episode right to your TV, commercials and all! Whether this is the original intent is irrelevant. This is how it will end up being used. As you yourself have pointed out in the past, many businesses will take any legal route to make more money. |
