You're missing something here.
With digital cable, and satellite tv broadcasting a digital signal, everything you watch is digital. Not analog. (Not to mention that they have till 2006, please excuse my ecocentricty here, to convert entirely to HD) With these actions on preventing the devices to be made, and the C5 encryption... you are denied to even record the evening news, or your favorite episode of ER as a pure digital copy. This includes PBS and CSPAN which are publicly funded broadcasting companies. THEY get to choose what you can and cannot record. And using the C5 encryption, dictate this at will!
We are not outraged that we can't, to use Hollywood's fear: Mass produce their movies, we are outraged that they are going to deny us the technology and choice.
