Well, I don't really know about the boring thing, but I can tell you why you have deja vu. It's supposedly because your brain accidentally registers the moment you're experiencing in both your short-term and long-term memory, hence making you think that you remember the same thing happening then and a long time ago. I can't verify that this is true, but that's what seems to be accurate.
