As I watched it, I was divided on liking it, and then, after explaining the Tick (As I knew him) to someone I came to a different conclusion.
First, I never read the comic (WHat a Sheltered life I've lead), but I assume it is a good parody of other superhero comics.
The Cartoon was funny, and likely a parody of superhero cartoons (See where I'm going?)
I think that the Tick live action series is intended to be more a parody of Superhero TV shows (not cartoons or comics) which is quite a feat considering there are so few of those to draw upon (At least in recent years). So maybe the whole Superhero Genre will come into play, movies and what have you.
Still who didn't enjoy the Tick getting a message from his teeth?
And Apocolypse Cow?
I do agree that it will need work to last, but then again, look at any successful series in the last 20 years, watch the first few episodes, and see how they stack up to the later legacy of the show?
