What did everyone think of The Tick? by pecosdave2001-11-09 06:07:36

Okay, the Tick is a superhero.

Apparently first a comic book(Which I admit I never saw), then a cartoon, and now, a live action series (Which premiered last night, hence this thread).

Best way to describe it, is to say, it is for Superhero comics, what Austin Powers is for James Bond movies.
It takes certain established and well known conventions, and lampoons them, with the characters oblivious to how ridiculous it is.

The Title Character, The Tick, is a huge Blue guy with super strength, a heroic nature (He very much believes in fighting the good fight) a sometimes philosophical bend, but a brain the size of a walnut.

Some of the heros found in the cartoon are American Maid (A captain america style heroine, who is dressed like a maid, and throws here shoes at people) Tick's side kick Arthur (He has a moth suit, and can fly, although he had no other super powers I've ever seen, and no superhero moniker either) and Sewer Urchin (A Rain Man personality in some sort of diving gear).

As for is the tick worth it?
You'd have to see it for yourself to decide.
In the opening episode, we got to watch the Tick (Who was self appointed protector of some bus station) heroicly thrash a coffee machine, that had taken some man's money but hadn't given him any coffee.
He means well, but he just ain't too bright.
Which is all part of his charm.

Hope this answers your question.
