but perhaps you folks can help me understand this...

today we're having our benefits meeting for annual election... we have one health insurance plan only... no choice of two or anything... it's $19 biweekly to participate... if i don't participate, the company will give me an extra $17 biweekly...

so say i make $600 biweekly pretax... if i don't take insurance i'll have $617 pretax... if i do, i'll have $581 pretax... so basically insurance will cost me $36 biweekly... that's $72 a month...

am i wrong or are they penalizing me for having insurance???
