In the state of Texas, any double-edged knife is illegal, regardless of length. Single-edged knifes over a certain length are also illegal. In this state, I could get a permit to carry a concealed handgun or walk down the street with a shotgun, but if I leave my house with a sword, I'll get arrested. To conceal something over 6', paint the lower half brown, the upper half green, and tell people it's a tree.
