Buma Stemra in the Netherlands is doing this for CD-Rs.
Result: whenever I buy some CD-Rs, I support some dumb Dutch or
American singer or Hollywood movie studio, even though I use
them for anime pics, movie files and sound files...
AKA: stuff from Japan.
If they want to tax me for the not 100% legal use of recordable
material, I at least want to vote, so the money doesn't end
up thousands of miles away from the place it should go to.
I don't want to subsidize people I have zero interest in. :(
