My eyes! by nin_man 2001-11-07 21:55:07
As a service to UFies everywhere, I have taken it upon myself to determine just how long one can stare at a Photoshop screen and work with a dysfunctional trackball before one is no longer averse to ripping one's eyes from one's sockets. The trouble was not that Photoshop confuses me, it's that my trackball's ball is loose, which makes precision something of an impossibility, and cursing inevitable.

The time taken before I groped blindly for a spoon: 3 hrs., 14 mins.

I would have given up long ago, but I was not doing this for myself. I found myself entrenched in a project for none other than the Boy Scouts of America. I'm designing some binder covers for leader training sessions coming up soon, and I think I've gotten as close to finished as I care to get. For some reason, the photo-quality paper I have is A4 size, which leaves each printed cover roughly two inches too narrow and half an inch too tall.

Those of you curious to see my work can sod off for right now, for I've no desire to look any further at these wholly unnecessary images for the rest of my natural life and half of my next one. Also, since they're still full-sized at 300dpi resolution, they're too freakin' big to put up anywhere. You'll just have to imagine what they look like. However, I can say that EyeCandy saved the day, and Logitech damn near wrecked it.

Please note that the ability to use Photoshop and the ownership of plug-ins doesn't make me a geek. It makes me a wannabe artist. ;)
