My ex had problems keeping work, he was an impulse buyer... Took my credit cards and charged them up on me... had me blowing several hundred $$ buying 20 family members dinner at various places... Charged up bills for his ex's and flings on his cards and had me help him pay them off... list goes on. Borrowed $2500 from my family to pay part of *his* debts off.. he rang it up yet again then had to approach his family for $1500 to help pay them off... Finally I said enough is enough and we went to bankruptsy. I had to get jobs to put food on the table and keep creditors at bay because he couldn't keep a job.. that with a toddler running around I had to care for and number 2 on the way. He wanted me to consider becomming a call girl so he could live a better life and get what he wanted and not worry about the money... But despite all the financial crud... I think the emotional/psychological price paid was quite high when I was with him... I'm glad to be away from him.
Now one other ex he had me pay the bulk of his bills, get him treats, etc... My family felt he was taking advantage of me... he's not a bad person tho selfcentered at times and he can be dominant/opinionated.(he can have a good heart despite his "other traits).
One thing I don't consider a waste was the times out of love I gave flowers, made candle lite dinners, took out to dinners, etc... Sure I had my heart broken at times but some did actually appreciate it and respond in kind... not everyones a jerk... tho I think everyone at some point in their life runs across one or two jerks.(be they female or male) There are golddigging men in this world just as there are gold digging women... I've seen both. I unforunately had to console those that had to deal with the gold digging women I knew... and just deal with the stuff I went through.(court cases, bankruptsy, police reports, etc...)
Btw in the case of my ex his original reason for wanting one kid was so he'd not "owe."(ie child support and he bragged as such to me and others) He also tried to argue in court that he shouldn't have to give me anything.(medical reports link part of my "stuff" with abuse by him). I don't recieve support in any way from him.(I let the issue drop because of things with one of my kids health)... btw I was with him for 7 yrs. |
