HTML will let you format probally 90% of whatever you will need to do, if you have a good grasp of the language, for ultimate controll just add in CSS and go nuts, you'll never have any problems getting formating perfect.

Of course this requires thought rather then just clicking the left right and centre buttons. I woulnd't trust a WYSIWYG to handle CSS properally, (though sometimes I make an exception with Dreamweaver)
