I've seen much of this sort of thing, though I've seen much more of single mothers living on welfare trying to get ahead because the father left and won't pay them a dime.
However, the lack of common sense I see from judges in divorce trials is amazing. If the woman has lots of money, why should the guy pay her anything? I can understand a reasonable amount to feed and clothe the kid(s), but all adults should be responsible for themselves. This money to "live a lifestyle they are accustomed to" is garbage. People get rich, people get poor and unless they try to make things better on their own, there is no way someone else should be responsible.
