to the common technopeasant that just wants to be able to check email and open word docs (word is another can of worms entirely. does it really have to be that big?), so linux is not a viable choice. why? no word unless you try your hand at wine and most people have enough trouble finding the power button on the computer, so loading up windows emulators to run word (frighteningly) slower than under windows is not reasonable. in the light that thier product is good for the lemmings, yeah, it is, but they don't give the opportunity to other companies to write for lemmings, anticompetetive practice and all that.
