The first one you'll pry from the Wizard's cold, dead fingers _is_ the real one. The reincarnations of the Wizard of Yendor will try to steal it and replace it with a fake one. Solution: #name the real one as soon as you have it. Check if it's still in your inventory in case the Wizard stops bugging you, because he won't stop as long as you carry the amulet. And there's an easy way of telling the real thing from fake Amulets of Yendor: try putting it in a container. The real amulet won't fit. Oh, and Derek, if you've got usenet access: try rec.games.roguelike.nethack. Helps a lot.
