I don't really consider it wasted re computer stuff... (last big purchase amounted to aprox $200 for USB stuff and cam)
I don't consider getting my boyfriend neat little things a waste I like to do it.(I just got him an 18" hunter green velvety teddybear. Before that brass lantern candle holder, some candles and incense, a stuffed talking penguin, and a stuffed dolphin.)
I also don't consider it a waste to take my kids out and do things.(treats at the dollar store/corner store for doing well or just for the heck of it. Lunch at the mall. Book orders, etc). BTW my son made the honour roll for last month. :)
Also buying candles, incense, organic bath soap, and bubble bath isn't a waste. Its good for relaxation, etc. When I get magazines (occasionally Astronomy or Discover Archeology or Linux Journel. Scientific American, Popular Science, and Popular Mechanics) I don't consider that a waste as they are educational...
Fixing the cat and getting it a shots wasn't a waste nor my new glasses. (total around $300)
Tho admittedly when I go out to eat that is probably wasteful because usually I can cook and just feel lazy or am craving what is premade from some place.
I didn't consider it wasting money to get friends little kicknacks or stuff to make them such.(I like crafts and just felt like it).
I didn't consider it a waste the times when I've donated to whatever, bought flowers for people/things, etc...
I try to be practicle most times and worry more about my kids, etc than my stuff. However I'm saving up to build that new machine.(it was a toss up on keeping the savings for a trip or a machine but more practicle to get a machine... I'll try saving again for a trip later.) |
