The point is that eating fish on Fridays is about remembering those times. There is no disputing that fish were a crucial point of life to the masses then. We are just doing our best to remember the pain the early Church endured. This is just one way of doing it, a very popular way. Also, I'm not quite following you. "[T]ruth with conjecture."? I do not understand. I'll give you the references as soon as I dig them up. BTW, I'm not trying to bash Southern Baptists, it's just that a) an inordinate number of the people who are "anti-Catholic" and "Catholic bash" are, and b) I live in a Southern Baptist area, so I'm particularly exposed to them. It's been a big change moving from a Catholic area to a Southern Baptist one.
