Very few people are in the middle.
I just seemed to gravitate automatically to no meat when I was little. I grew up in the land of beef (the midwest US) and my mother had the hardest time getting me to eat. I'd eat salads, broccoli, green beans, bread, rice, etc. But when she put a steak in front of me, she'd get the typical little kid "eeeewww" reaction. She could usually get me to eat hamburgers if they were smothered in enough other stuff that the meat taste was masked. *shrug* It just seemed automatic to switch to vegetarian when I left home.
And on the rare occasions I consider adding chicken or something back into my diet, I just think about the last time I was fed a little meat and that's enough to make me think twice. Talk about "eeeewww"... |
