If you are waiting to turn left, there must have been other traffic, so pedestrians should Not be there. If you were at a light waiting to turn left, you must have had the light, so any pedestrian would have to be crossing illegally against the light. Besides, if you get out into the intersection, pedestrians could cross behind you. Get out there! _{Okay, so this is a pet peeve of mine, but the arguments are valid.} Better luck next time. :)
