It's illegal to hunt them that young here. But Bambi grew up.
Actually, the Bambi bit is a name we have for "civet de chevreuil" (a type of roe deer stew, where you marinade the meat for at least 24 hours in wine and cognac and herbs and stuff.)
My sister had this dish served at her wedding meal, and when my aunt asked what "this delicious stew" was my Farther answered " Bambi". My poor Aunt didn't eat another bite. A friend of mine who is a very good photographer was there to take the wedding pictures and overheard this. He found the whole episode very funny, and on the monday procceded to tell all my collegues.
Since then that dish has always been refered to as "Bambi".
