Not wishing to completely trash your reasons...
Personally I don't eat meat because it is less intelligent than me. I eat it because evolution decreed that the Human Race would need to eat meat to get the protein required for it's survival. I evolved to be a carnivore, I see no reason to stop.
I can understand that people may give up eating meat due to the often barbarous conditions of farms and slaughterhouse, but my thinking is along the lines of:
"These animals were bred purely to provide food. If I should choose not to eat them because they were raised on a farm that does not benefit them in any way. They would not be released to roam free around the countryside living a life of fulfillment. Therefore eating them brings meaning to their lives."
Yes I realise my opinion is politically incorrect, and is likely to attract the wrath of Vegetarians/Animal Rights Activists worldwide, but as long as I'm able to eat meat, I will. |
