Now, how can people be a good liberal if they start thinking before they react? :)
I have mixed feelings about MS myself. My attitude tends to parallel yours in this. I think XP is probably going to be a good product, but I don't like the megalomania accompanying it. It's like we have finally found out who was behind the old "The Outer Limits" tv show; "we control the horizontal, we control the vertical; for the next hour we will control all you see and hear..." (minus the hour limitation.)
I'm getting ready to set up a new system; it will be used for 3d modelling (most likely with Lightwave,) programming, and playing Everquest. This means it'll have to have some form of Windows on it (but almost certainly will dual-boot into Linux). I really really really really (really) don't like the registration scheme as I've heard of it, for XP. So I'll probably go with Win2K.
