Totally wonderful to have those. If they're what you say (early editions), then thy're very valuable. The 1/1000 means it was book one of the thousand limited edition. No more valuable than say 452/1000 copy because they were all printed in that one run. I bet you'll have a reference librarian who could answer all the rest of your questions. Try at the University or largest public library where you live.
