Multiple-day discussions and diaries by IByte 2001-10-21 08:54:30
Welcome to the UF board, zweistein!

You mention that you would like to span some discussions over more than one day. Your diary seems to me to be a good place to do that. For higer exposure, you could start the discussion off on the main board, and continue in your diary.

Some explanation about the diary:
The Top-Level Permanent Content is the text you have entered on your Account Settings page (I see you have already done that). It appears right underneath the "Diary of $USER" caption, i.e. above all posts.
A Top-Level *Post* (TLP) on the other hand is a post that starts a new thread by means of the "Post New Comment" link, so it is not a reply. Only the owner of the diary can make a TLP there. ATTENTION: This means that you will have to post something to your diary in order for us to be able to post anything to your diary, otherwise there won't be anything for us to reply to! The "Post New Comment" link does not appear in a diary if you're not the owner.

ARGH! Stupid ARS bug! (or IE bug, maybe). I click "Preview" and it says "Bad Article ID", sending half of my post to the Information Nirvana. Has anyone seen this happen before?
