I'm home now, and pulled one out.
The books are copyright 1909 by the Edinburgh Society (not Press).
Maybe you can also help me with this; It says in type face;

One thousand impressions have been taken for this edition

and then centered under that there is a black ink stamp that says 1

Under the '1' there is a script that says Edinburgh Society with a flourish.

Does the '1' indicate first printing, or does it indicate number one of a thousand?

There are some sketches (photogravure for the frontspieces and mezzogravures for the remainder)in the books by Reginald Bolles which I used to think were pencil, but looking at them again, they may have been ink. Do you know anything about this illustrator? Or the firm of John Andrew and Son which made the 'gravures from his originals?

You think maybe they didn't have copyright to the two Jungle Book works? Or am I more likely missing a volume or two? Unfortunately, they didn't bother to number the volumes, so it's difficult to see how many are missing, and I am not a good enough study to know what other stories are not among these.
