many countries no longer do that(they see it as a human rights issue or something that isn't civilized perhaps). They just put serial murders and serial pediphiles, rapists, etc all in prison. Some they put in solitary (and not necisarily the normal type either its more just a private room) for their own protection because the other inmates just might kill them if given the chance. Some people are able to rehab unlikely the serial/repeat offenders are. Sometimes they actually release thease people after a few years back into society. However usually someone finds out so they have to keep relocating.(least by what I've seen in canadian news). The one of the "serial" type people that hurt me got delt with. But not by a court dealing capital punishment he got killed during one of his illegal activities. Same can't be said of the person(child) that hurt my son. Another "serial" offender did however go to jail and made media where I grew up... they were a teacher. Yet another never got arrested and later I found out they are a childrens entertainer...<sigh>
