while no one can walk the walk if they haven't actually been in those boots, it is important for military types to remember that civilians need to wrap their mind around that Walk of life if they are to understand it, and the closest they can come is to imagine the most stressful thing they themselves have been through. For many geeks, it's too many years of tech support. Of course, if you haven't walked that life, the joke might be difficult to fathom....
