Illiad,
I know that you mean well in your humorous attempt to draw parallels between tech support nightmares and real life combat vets, but, I think it does a *major* disservice to veterans of all armies of all wars who had to watch friends die, see human suffering and deprevity on a daily basis, and commit acts themselves that in ordinary circumstances they would consider cold-blooded murder.
The worst thing that can happen to a tech support geek at the end of the day is that he/she will have consumed too much caffeine, get way stressed out and yell at their kids/significant other/pet for no good reason. Real life combat vets can end up in a body bag.
We sit here comfortable at our computers, wishing we had gone to pee before we plugged the jack of our headset in, meanwhile somewhere in Afghanistan some SAS chap is controlling his breathing with his weapon at the ready praying that the Taliban guard about 18 inches from him doesn't realize he's being watched, raise an alarm before he can be taken down, and thereby compromise the mission the SAS chap and his friends are on. Unlike Rainbow 6 ladies and gentleman, there is no game reset here.
Something to keep in mind.
