has been around for a while - although if you are a member of Encompass/DECUS - you can get a Hobbyist license copy of OpenVMS for free - although you will still need an Alpha or VAX to run it on - i have however looked at the Freeware version a bit - haven't used it tho - and unfortunately - don't have a platform at present on which to run any version of VMS - perhaps once I move - i'll be able to afford a small Alpha workstation or something (money isn't quite the problem - physical space is)
