but there were many who still believed
the earth was flat, just as today, in spite
of overwhelming scientific evidence about
the age and the 'genesis' of the earth, there
are some who STILL believe that life, the universe,
and everything began a mere 6005 years ago, and
it was all accomplished in 6 literal days.
(mounts his bushy pulpit) The Bible, the Koran,
and various others were never intended to be
textbooks of science or history; they were meant
to be spiritual guides. "Christian" fundamentalists
cause a great deal of embarassment to real Christians
(If God had wanted Man to think, He would have given
him a brain...) Same for "Islamic" fundamentalists,
especially those who turn violent. If it has not yet
been beaten into your brain, write this on your
favorite 2x4 and thwack away :
