Qoute: "I can see how that would bother you, personally, if those are things of which you disapprove."
Whether or not you have been faithful to the same woman for however many years you wish to claim is irrelevent to your idea that equating "changing her mind" with "lying" is ok because, after all, it was only a "joke." Do you actually call her a liar out loud when she changes her mind about her entree or do you just mutter it under your breath? Do you really believe that perpetuating stereotypes is fine, so long as you put little smileys in the sentance?
Let's see how that works:
"Polacks are stupid." :-)
"A-rabs are towel-heads" :-)
"Southeners marry their siblings. :-)
"Women are all liars." :-)
"The Irish never bathe." :-)
"Jews are greedy." :-)
Well, I still don't see the humour, even with the added smilies. Maybe it's because I'm on the receiving end of the "jokes" and you aren't. Guess that makes lots of stuff funny.
You want to get along with people? Think about your audience. I've had raving fits about men when I'm good and mad but I have them with my friends, not out in public. I keep seeing the same idiotic "jokes" about women on this board, from people who also claim to be intelligent and tolerant. I no longer believe them. What I don't see much of, except once, is the women making the same intolerant "jokes" about men.
