This was most assuredly NOT a simplistic attack! by SouthpawPL2001-09-13 12:23:27

cellphones make the hijackings simplistic. you get a couple people at a few seperate airports, they buy tickets for flights leaving at the same time. if problems come up, they call eachother and reschedule.

1)The terrorists purchased advance tickets for flights on exactly the same aircraft, selecting long distance cross country flights to ensure maximum fuel on board. this was not " okay, Hakim. I'm going to pick this one."

well, it doesn't take much training to fly an airliner.

2)Actually, it does. As I stated here, it ain't as easy as it looks. these guys were trained pilots. Specifically trained for the 757/767.

the first plane hit near the top. that's the worst place to hit if you want to take down the building.

Wrong again. The WTC Towers were steel frame construction. They were actually stronger at lower levels than above. Think about it. The lower levels had to hold up the weight of the upper. The bottom levels of a building like that are built like bank vaults for that very reason. The first plane hit at about the 75th floor. The ensuing fire (from those almost full fuel tanks) in an enclosed space, got hot enough to weaken the steel beams holding up the top floors of the building. When the beams failed, the top of the building became a million pound wrecking ball. Aided by gravity, it pulverized everything below it, gaining speed and mass with every foot it fell! Structural engineers were needed to determine that, just as structural engineers were called in to explain what caused the buildings to fail so soon after the attack. Those experts could watch the video and make educated analysis after the fact, but it would have had to take number-crunching to determine the proper height before the fact.

I seriously doubt they spent months going through advanced physics equations, more likely they just picked a spot and flew at it.

Wrong again. See above.

...easier for someone allready living in the country simply because people from the middle-east tend to look more suspicious...

That's just ignorant. And the kind of hateful statement that does a disservice to the 99% of middle-easterners who share America's horror at what these fanatical madmen have done. Your bigotry is showing.
