| This is one of the most sensible, logical, and well thought out thing that I have heard so far. I have spent the past 2 days thinking, analyzing, and trying to figure out this situation and everything related to it. Whereas a attack on American soil to our Middle East (and counter-terrorism) policy was inevitable from this (please don't flame me for saying that), one of this scale and sheer destructiveness is mind-blowing. I am not agreeing with their tactics, their destructiveness, their targets, or their wholesale slaughter of innocent lives, all I am saying is that we need to rethink how we treat the middle east. One thing we need to remember is that only those individuals and governments who were involved in the attack or are harboring or protecting those involved are our enemies. Just because people are arab-americans, muslim-americans, etc., they are NOT our enemies, and the misguided attacks made on them by the ignorant are downright offensive. All i'm saying is this, retribution must be taken on those responsible and those protecting them, and only them, not the innocent who just happen to share religion or nationality. I am responding to this writing because it has moved me so, and I mean it with no disrespect. This tragedy has changed me greatly, making me question some of my ideas and beliefs, but life must and will go on. |
