This, like so many other comic strips doesn't have to consistently be funny. Sometimes it has to have heart as well. I mean, I don't live in the US, but I have several friends there, and I know how they feel. Yesterday's and today's strip are meant to signify the historic event that has occured. It's like rememberance day all over, "Lest we forget." I find it admirable that such a thing was done by Illiad, it shows that everyone is trying to help out in their own way.
