It's very easy for all you folks outside the US to pass judgement on those of us who want vengeance on those who did this heinous crime. It didn't happen to your country, no one hates you just because your nationality is what it is, an entire region of the world doesn't have extremist groups calling for its members to kill your countrymen just because of where you were born.
Osama bin-Laden and the animals he trains and finances laugh at the word "peace". They do not deserve forgiveness, because they don't want it. Did you see the videos of Palestinians waving their flags and dancing in the streets as the towers fell, as thousands of innocent people of many nations were burning, falling dozens of stories to their deaths, being crushed by thousands of tons of concrete and steel? Do you think you would have seen that kind of reaction if it was a skyscraper in Tokyo instead of New York?
I've heard people say that this was like Pearl Harbor. This was nothing like Pearl Harbor. At Pearl Harbor, we had the military forces of one nation attack the military forces of another. Tuesday morning, a bunch of mercenaries, harbored and sheltered by another nation, not only killed thousands of innocent civilians, they used hundreds of OTHER innocent civilians as the instruments of those deaths!
This sort of psychotic behavior must not be allowed to continue. The time for negotiation is over. We've tried for years to negotiate, but it failed. War was declared on the United States on Tuesday. If we sit and take it, they will do it again, and again, and again, until we are all dead. And when we are dead, they will pick another nation to blame for their lot in life, and start killing them. These terrorists will stop at nothing else. Violence and death are all they want, and all they understand. So we must go after them with every resource we have available to us.
I want the perpetrators of this act dead. All of them. Those that planned, it, financied it, and those who harbored them and gave them a place to prepare for it. If that happens to be Osama bin-Laden, people he trained, and the Taliban government of Afghanistan, so be it. The response to the attack on the WTC and Pentagon should be swift, hard, and frightening. It should be so staggeringly violent that no nation on Earth would dare to harbor a terrorist within its borders again.
Note that I said "government" in the previous paragraph. I harbor no malice towards the general populace of ANY nation, race, or religion. But the leaders that allowed these terrorists to operate within their borders are just as guilty as the ones that piloted the Boeings into the towers, and they must pay their debt. And they must be an example to any other government that would do what they did. If no nation harbors or helps terrorists again, then terrorists will once again be loners making pipe bombs in their basements. It's not enough, but it will have to do.
For peace to have a chance, both sides must want it. These terrorists don't. So there can be no forgiveness, only retribution.
If you think I'm an idiot, or a lunatic, or a person filled with hatred for the universe, I'm sorry. I'm just very, very tired of being hated just because I happened to be born in the United States. I'm sick of being a target for someone that gets his jollies blowing other people up. And I'm especially tired of people that are so naive that they think these animals will stop if I give them a bouquet of flowers and tell them I love them.
I wish I did not feel this way. When I went to sleep Monday night, I didn't. But that person died Tuesday morning, and I don't know how to bring him back. |
