| Thank you, Canada |

I wept a good deal yesterday, for the loss of so many people who were going about their days' work, for the passengers on the airliners who did not ask to become part of a weapon against their fellow man, and for those whose lives and souls have become so twisted with hate and hopeless rage that they would be able to turn a deaf ear to the please of their victims and commit such atrocities.
One of the few things that comforted me through the day was how kind the Canadian goverment and people were to our citizens and would-be guests whose planes could not land in the United States. I've heard on the radio how so many private citizens in Canada rallied 'round, and offered beds and showers in their own homes for folks who otherwise would have slept on terminal floors. Thank you so much, everyone. If anyone's ever in LA, drinks are on me!

P.S.- I lit a candle for those who lost their lives and loved ones last night and left it out on my porch. Anyone else who wants to do so too is welcome. I plan to do it until Ben Laden is brought to justice. |
