Wars? No, there are you wars going on that the US is involved in. pissing contest, grudge matches, cock fights. Yes, and we are in most of them because of the politics of feeling good.
Defining EVIL is what has to be done. A society that is not willing to police itself is doomed to fall, and policing is the enforcement of what that society has defined as EVIL. The greatest evil of this modern age is the total unwillingness of it's people do call and evil act/person evil. This act, the deed of barbarism, is EVIL, and whoever perpetrated it is as well.
Feeling good, that's what has been running this country if not the world. 'Don't say that, it might make him feel bad', 'lets do this, even though we are in a recession, it will make these people happy', 'did you know that post-it notes make pleasant reminders for unpleasant things', kill a baby save a star. Feed a nation with just enough food to keep its people alive, but so mal-nourished that the brain withers into atrophy.
It is this feel-good politics that is motivating most of the quick anger responses. People, in the US, have become so use to making decision based on how they 'feel,' that 'feeling' decisions has become the only method that they can use. A quick response is needed for this act, to deal with a globally effecting event like this in any other way would be ludicrous. and breath strength into the very people that think that an act like this is justified, effective, and should be used again. That being said to deal with it 'haft cocked' could be likened to Nero fiddling while Rome burned.
Emotion needs to be removed from this equation. Cold hard facts are what are needed.
