I have a second statement to your post. Would you have the USA do nothing now... say 'I understand your pain, this was just a misunderstood child. Striking agents an oppressive authority figure, that has denied it the love that it so surely needs. I am sorry, I know how you feel. Would you like a hug.'
What do you think will happen to the world if the USA reacts this way... what would the world economy do, what would other terrorist organizations do, the PLO, IRA, or DFLP. Iraq, Afghanistan or Albania, who's threat is held in check only because of deterrence.
There is only one possible response, and whatever domesticated primate did this, just woke-up the 800lb gorrilla.
