A Call of Prayer for Our Nation by bmonger 2001-09-11 21:04:26
I went to church at 7pm tonight to pray. A piece of paper was handed out to those that attended. I retype it here for those of you that may not be sure what to pray for, maybe looking for more to pray for, or bible verses to aid you in this time of tragedy.

Also if you would like to join our prayer team please e-mail Andy Kampman at andykampman@NOSPAMhotmail.com (removing the NOSPAM of course). Just let him know that you would like to join the prayer team. This prayer team was not specifically set up for the purpose of this tragedy but will certainly be including this in the coming months.

Also you are *more* than welcome to copy the text of this and post it elsewhere. I will be reposting this tomorrow as it is almost time for the next days threading to begin.

A Day of Tragedy

A Call of Prayer for Our Nation

God answers the prayer of His people. In II Chronicles 7:14, the
Lord instructs us in the importance of praying for our nation. Join
us as we pray for the following:

President: George W. Bush
Vice President: Dick Cheney
Secretary of State: Colin Power
Secretary of Defense: Donald Runsfield
All Branches of the Armed Forces

1. Pray for the victims, their families, and those directly affecte by these terrorists acts.

2. Pray for physical and emotional healing for the thousands hurt by these events.

3. Pray for doctors, nurses, and medical personnel as they work long hours caring for those in need.

4. Pray for the police, firemen, National Guard, and other Law Enforcement agencies as they serve during this time of crisis and tragedy.

5. Pray for pastors and churches to provide spiritual leadership during this time of national crisis.

6. Pray for personal renewal and moral awakening. Ask God to help us to confess our sins, seek His direction, and rely on Him instead of ourselves.

7. Pray for greater dependence on God and renewed commitment to prayer to unleash God's spirit throughout our nation.

8. Pray for protection from terrorists and wisdom in dealing with those responsible for these atrocities.

9. Pray for healing, renewed hope for the future, and a renewed trust in God as a nation.

10. Pray for a growing sense of God's presence in our community and nation.

Psalm 33:12a "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord..."

Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."

Psalm 4:1 "Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Romans 8:37-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the futrue, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Proverbs 3:25-26 "Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared."
