but the planes that hit the WTC towers had actually slowed to around 300 knots just before impact - possibly an inexperienced pilot who was trying to make a last-minute course correction? Surely these pilots knew what they were doing, as the cockpit of a 757 or 767 is a daunting sight, but they weren't necessarily experts at flying one. Probably had just spent a little time in a flight sim, just like you. One has to wonder...but we won't really know what happened at all until we hear from the black boxes.
