How do you fully punish the murder of ten thousand people, the destruction of billions of dollars worth of property, the theft of four jets and an assault on an entire nation? Do you really think a life in prison will be enough? Short of execution, that's the harshest penalty our government allows for. Now, given what happened, I'd be all for an execution that takes two weeks to complete - or better yet, the Sloth murder in 'Seven'
But that won't bring back any of the victims, I know. It won't ease the sorrow of the victims' families. However, we can't forget that this was no accident. Someone was responsible for this, and someone must pay. And they will...harshly, I hope. |
