| Its not neccesarily about motivations (what you believe in) but in how you go about defending or spreading those beliefs. People within thier own countries have been doing similar things, not on the same scale, against the ruling regime. While we may not agree with thier beliefs, we believe in thier right to fight (in their own land) for those beliefs against their precieved oppressors. This is one of the defining differences between a patriot and a terrorist. A patriot fights for what he believes in to change his own land. A terrorist attacks others outside of his/her homeland to change thier beliefs. It is the methodology that is wrong, not the belief. Islamic extreamist might believe that America is evil and (at least in America) they have that right to that belief. I think they are wrong, but I'm not going to go kill them to change thier minds. It boils down, not to what I/we/they believe, but to how I/we/they go about changing the minds of others. |
