| I remember that when Roman citizens went out of Roman territory, that people still didn't mess with them, out of fear of the consequences. You did not mess with a Roman citizen, the Roman army would come down on you and down hard. Rome had to protect every single one of their citizens, they couldn't let anything get by, if they did that was weakness and showed people that things could be done against roman citizens. I don't think anything major happened to an innocent roman citizen, not without reprisal. Nice concept huh? |
