I believe the numbers reported were each tower could hold 50,000 people, and it was after business hours started when the towers got hit.
That's also just the death count for the the towers themselves; secondary collapses, any gas line explosions, the planes themselves, the firefighters and rescue workers who may die while retrieving people, the deaths in the Pentagon and from the crash outside Pittsburgh haven't been calculated at all in that number.

I'm sorry to keep going on about this, but it has totally blown my mind.
