Since you'll never get an answer indicative of all of us, how about one person's?
I am horrified, both at the actions taken this morning, and at your approach to the topic. What good does an answer do when it is based on emotion rather than reason? Emotion may cause some people to blame visible targets now, and to advocate violent retribution over careful justice. The United States and the world are ruled by laws and treaties, under which these attacks are crimes against humanity. If it is at all possible those who are responsible should be punished, not with what would afterwards be referred to as "The oppressive might of Capitalist America," but with the penalties of our international laws. We must behave in a lawful manner ourselves if we hope to prevent such violence in the future.
Wars are useful for population control and that's about all. Not for seeking justice, or for preventing repetition of this horror. |
