I ended up being evac'd from the NIH, but traffic was so bad I couldn't leave so I walked into bethesda. When I eventually left bethesda, there were police all over bethesda, canine units, etc. All roads onto the NIH campus were blocked off with construction vehicles and police. And on my way into VA where I live, police sporadically in major areas on 495 and the GW parkway was closed.

Home now, getting in touch with people that left me messages to see if I was OK.
