Sind damit nicht einfach die nervigen Werbe-Popups auf den Websites gemeint? Würde zum Marketing und zu Steve passen. Daß die Dame recht wenig Ahnung von Technik zu haben scheint, hat sie bei der Diskussion mit Miranda bewießen. (Pauschal ist die Technik schuld.) Vermutlich glaubt Steve, sie durch etwas banales wie eben Popups beeindrucken zu können, was ihm, ihrem Gesichtsausdruck nach, auch gelingt.

Kann es sein, daß Iliad da auch eine Doppeldeutigkeit rüberbringen will, daß Steve sie "poppen" will? :)
