Did you make a boot disk w/ your Linux install?	by brion	2001-09-11 01:20:54
If so, pop it in, boot up, and run "lilo" as root to reinstall the boot record. Easy as pie! If not, use the boot disk or CD that you used to install; usually these have LILO on them. You can manually boot from these... At the LILO prompt (you might have to hit shift or some crazy thing) say "linux root=/dev/hdXX initrd=" (replace XX with a1 or a5 or whatever depending on your config) With luck, you can boot up... Not log in as root, run lilo.
