Well, "ethical" or not you'd probably be arrested for breaking into the computers of anybody who get your antivirusvirus, which after all IS A VIRUS. Remember also that some of the more annoying viruses were intended to be relatively harmless but had side effects due to bugs that caused the infected computers to crash, lose data, etc. Be prepared to back up the purity and goodness of your virus with your property and freedom. My advice is DON'T DO IT. Just as my advice to someone asking "Would it be ethical to buy some assault rifles and patrol my neighborhood with a vigilante group, shooting anyone who looked suspicious?" would be DON'T DO IT.
