As some of you know, I've been looking for a real full-job. I just got a job offer today in Calgary, Alberta in a killer company's IT department. There's just one problem: I'd be the IT Resource Manager. This excites me: it means I'd get paid more than I would as a programmer. But it means that I wouldn't be programming. It also means I'd be MANAGEMENT.
Do you guys think I should take it, or hold off until I can get a geek position? I did take some management courses in school, but you know. I'd be... well... management. I just took the courses so I'd have upward mobility and understand the weird and unusual world of management, but I never thought I'd be there. Thoughts, y'all? |
