Stupid Question by mpicklesimer2001-07-19 07:15:32

If you want to partition without deleting windows and reinstalling you might run into hassle as if you partition off the first 20BG to windows and leave the last 10GB to linux you will not be able to boot into Linux. I am by no means a guru at this sort of thing but the boot sector has to be in the first 1024 mapped cylinders (it used to have to be in the first 1024 cylinders before mapping) which is about 6GB IIRC. Feel free to correct me on that. Also you will probably find a way to circumvent this if you spend long enough on google.
